J-SOx Compliance
J-SOx is the short name for the Japanese version of the Sarbanes-Oxley law or SOx. SOx refers to a piece of United States legislation drafted by American politicians Sarbanes and Oxley. The law is intended to create transparency and reassure investors in the aftermath of a number of accounting scandals in the business world.
Since 2008, all companies that are active on the Japanese stock market have to comply with the Japanese version of this law, the Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. Daikin Europe N.V. has been J-SOx compliant since April 2008.
Daikin response to J-Sox

Daikin continually evaluates these systems to ensure the Company effectively provides the internal control assurance required by J-SOx. The company is committed to making any necessary adjustments to these systems, to ensure continued compliance with J-SOx and any related regulations.

ISO9001 certification
The Daikin Europe N.V. manufacturing operation meets all European manufacturing standards and quality requirements, while ongoing research focuses on optimising both unit capacity and quality.
Successfully following our factories’ example in Japan, Daikin Europe N.V. received the ISO 9001 certificate in 1993. The certification is our customers' guarantee that we pay close attention to quality at every stage of design and production, as well as in our after-sales service. It also guarantees that Daikin’s quality system is audited regularly, both internally and by external bodies.
In April 2002, Daikin Europe N.V. was audited by Lloyd Register Quality Assurance under the new ISO9001:2000-norm. This new standard is business-process oriented and requires participating companies to direct all processes towards achieving customer satisfaction.
Our motivated employees strive for continuous improvement and ensure that Daikin products and processes conform to ISO9001 certification requirements at all times.
ISO50001 certification
Since 2006 Daikin is voluntarily participating in the Flemish Energy Audit covenant period 2006 - 2014. This covenant is an agreement between the Flemish Government and companies with a high energy consumption and goes further than the standard legal requirements. Purpose of this covenant is to ensure that Flemish energy intensive companies stay and become leading companies in energy efficiency! Daikin is already participating in the successor of the audit covenant, the Flemish energy policy agreement, period 2015 - 2020, with the same goals as the covenant but with additional requirements for the participating companies.
In addition to this Daikin has an effective energy management system in place to ensure a sustainable use AND reduction of energy! In 2014 our management system has been successfully audited by Lloyds according to the ISO 50001 standard. Daikin is one of the first air conditioning manufacturers to receive such recognition.
Remark: DENV uses only green energy at the manufacturing plant in Ostend and also 2000 solar panels are installed to produce green energy. By these actions DENV has reduced drastically its carbon footprint.
